Today in Interstate History
October 13, 1971A 12-mile section of I-45 in Freestone County, Texas, was officially opened to traffic. The section had been the final gap in that Interstate route between Galveston and Dallas. The entire route, spanning 285 miles, is the shortest highway in the Interstate System ending in "5." |
