Highway Administrator Lowell K. Bridwell.

New York State signed an agreement with the Federal Highway Administration to rein in billboards and outdoor advertising along Interstate and other federally aided primary highways throughout the state. As explained by Federal Highway Administrator Lowell K. Bridwell, the agreement would limit the size and spacing of that type of signage in compliance with the Highway Beautification Act of 1965.
