Reaching the Peak: Rock Springs, WY – June 19

AASHTO Director of Communications Sunny Schust, Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo, Merrill Eisenhower Atwater, and Transportation Research Board Chairman Alan Pisarski at the dinosaur exhibit at Western Wyoming Community College.

The convoy made a brief stop in Rock Springs, WY for a luncheon at Western Wyoming Community College.

Monday, June 19

12:00 pm Arrive in Rock Springs for Lunch at Western Wyoming Community College
Exit 103 off I-80
1:00 pm Depart for Cheyenne, WY (258 miles)

The convoy spent the night in Laramie, WY.

Prior to leaving Laramie on June 20, the convoy made a 10:00 am visit to the Peterson Asphalt Conference in Laramie and meet attendees and Dr. Ray Robertson of the Western Research Institute.

At noon, the convoy stopped for a lunch and media event at the Lincoln Summit Rest Area, the highest point on I-80. A bust of Abraham Lincoln, which was moved from its original location on the Lincoln Highway, is located at the site.
