Rock and Road: Urbandale, IA – June 23

Iowa hosted the convoy for lunch at the Living History Farms in Urbandale, with a 1950s "Rock and Road" theme. Lincoln Highway motorcycle group escorted the convoy to the site. Invited VIPs included Governor Thomas J. Vilsack, and leaders of the Lincoln Highway group, the Associated General Contractors, and the Concrete Paving Association. Vintage car groups and motorcycle clubs escorted the convoy to the Farms. Period costume and rock 'n' roll band Jerry Martin and the Sounds were featured. The band's latest recording, On the Road with Ike, was inspired by the 50th Anniversary of the Interstate.
